ACHIEVEMENTS

·    Spearheaded the creation of a LAN that was widely recognized as “Ahead of its time.Results: The LAN served 26,000 students/faculty with 800 workstations while saving over $1MM

 

·   Designed / Developed a very successful software system.  Created an innovative use of the Internet to replicate encrypted SQL data.   Results: $1.75mm sales, 30 adjuster and 100 law firms interconnected, documented savings of over $250k /year / client.

 

·   Successfully consulted on management / evaluation with over 200 team leaders from  20 organizations, nationwide. Taught 1) clarifying program goals, 2) setting measurable objectives, 3) documenting progress.   Results: Observable improvement in projects funded at $12mm/year.

 

·   Insightfully analyzed surveys  / client account data for over 250 banks and 300 hotels.  Results:  many marketing decisions, e.g. one hotel used one report to increase income by over $300K/year.

 

·   Demonstrated effective communication skills through teaching, writing, and public speaking.   Results: published over 20 articles, taught six master’s level courses, delivered over 100 presentations at National Conferences and authored a column in a major computer magazine.

 

·    Advised hundreds of university researchers / private consultants on data analysis (BMD, SPSS, SAS)  Results: transformed hundreds of millions of surveys, questionnaires, client data records, census records and other data into informative reports for decision makers

 

·   Independently created a dedicated team of 10 full time and 65 part time staff who built a University Computing Support System.  Results:  Outstanding Problem Solving/Service to 25,000 students and 900 faculty/researchers, while being recognized as a model for Universities in the USA.

 

·   Successfully transitioned one of the largest non-profit agencies in Florida from “manual systems” to computer by writing / modifying software and training staff in budgeting, GL, Payroll and MIS.  Results: $1.5MM agency had lower costs, better information, and improved funding agency and  board reporting / satisfaction.

Designed system and Led staff who developed and supported a successful software package for connecting Insurance Claims Departments and Defense Counsel Firms.   Key troubleshooter for ALL computer problems, installed and ran ISP equipment, configured frame relay links, routers, ran multiple NT and Novell Servers.  Involved daily with Sales and Customer Relations.
