What are Versioning Systems?

Basic versioning systems are designed to A) archive and B) retrieve different versions of individual files.

More mature Versioning Systems have additional features:
·Allow collaborative work  
·Document changes over time - who did them, what was done  
·Are Network aware  
·Support branching  
·Show differences between versions  
·Deal with whole projects as one entity
